What's Next for the Immersive Web

I had the privilege of sharing the stage with my good friend Pedro Jardim, co-founder at Anitya, at Web Summit 2024, marking my first time speaking at this prestigious global event.

Living in Portugal, it was especially meaningful to debut at Web Summit, one of the world’s largest technology conferences. With over 70,000 attendees filling every room and space, the energy was electric.

I’m absolutely blown away by the warm reception from the audience—it’s incredibly humbling to see how far my message has reached.

Our keynote, What’s Next for the Immersive Web, explored a bold hypothesis: the new internet is built on three foundational layers:

• Logic: Artificial Intelligence (AI)

• Blockchain as the new web’s backbone, enabling seamless data processing and payments

As someone deeply immersed in Web3, sharing insights I’ve gained from working with the world’s largest brands and AAA Web3 founders with a predominantly Web2 audience—and feeling the love in return—has been incredibly encouraging.

This session was a deep dive into how these technologies are converging to define the next era of the internet. Being part of this conversation on such a global stage was an unforgettable experience!
